Margaret (call me Maggie), born and bred in Yorkshire, England more years ago than I like to think about but still retaining streaks of Yorkshire grit and stubbornness.

Where do I live now? I am extremely fortunate to live in the beautiful New Forest National Park.  A lovely part of England where ponies and other animals roam freely.  I love it!

When did I start Gnomeland and why?   It was 2001 when I had this yearning to find out how computers work.  I had never typed or operated any kind of office equipment in my life.  I took myself off to the local college to learn how to surf the internet.  I found it fascinating. Part of the six week course was 'how to build a small web site'.  We all had to choose a subject and mine was Gnomes.  Why? because I had some in my garden and I had just bought myself a new digital camera.  They photographed well!  As a matter of interest I passed my exam at the end of the course.  I was ecstatic, it was the first exam I had ever passed in my life.

Picture Gallery Has grown into the world's largest collection of gnomes ever recorded and is growing by the day.

Gnome shop After many requests from gnome lovers a shop was added in 2005. We have sold gnomes worldwide.  Many are sunning themselves on the beaches in Florida, some are on mountain sides in Norway and many have been sold as office 'fun gifts'.  It has been fun and I have met some very nice people.
