George Harrison and his gnomes

 

 

 The cover of George Harrison's early 1970's "All Things Must Pass"  depicting  the former Beatle in the company of a reposed ceramic garden gnome, is considered an invaluable testament of the local gnome's worldwide popularity at the time. The gnome  which is shown reclining on the original record cover, is a fine example of a gnome made by the famous  Ferdinand Maresch factory in north Bohemia during the early 1900's.

Their production was extensive and their wares were shipped far and wide
