All
precious objects need care and maintenance and we want you to enjoy your
Gnome for a very long time. For your information, Gnomeland has put
together a few do’s and dont's to make sure that your gnome will look
it’s best for many years to come.
Your Gnome should not be able to absorb water through the earthenware base. When you place the Gnome outside it is recommended you put him on a stone, or that you place him on sticks, which you put into the soil. The Gnome is hollow and has had holes made for this purpose. The Gnome should have no direct contact with the soil and air should circulate around the base.
It is also recommended that you bring your Gnome inside for the winter months, particularly if you are likely to get severe frosts. Any place inside is fine and if you like you can even put him in a box so that he can hibernate.
Even, better take him into your home or take him to the office where he will bring you and your workmates a little happiness during the miserable winter months.
Your Gnome will thank you for this care and attention and will reward you with a long life so that future generations can enjoy him as you have.
TIP
You can buy sealant to seal the porous surface of the terracotta gnomes to prevent water penetrating the material. However the manufactures cannot guarantee the outcome of such applications and prefer to treat them in the traditional manner which is known to work.
