PUMA - plastic
Plachy & Materne, Wirges,Westerwald, Germany started producing garden gnomes, animals and mushrooms under the name of Puma plastic during the late 1960's. Their gnomes were made of hard plastic blown in two-part moulds and then hand painted. They manufactured and exported the gnomes extensively during 1965-1968 period.
The vintage trade leaflets/brochures and catalogues show their large range of gnomes which were available during this period of early plastic models. Europe could not get enough of these cheap plastic gnomes and business boomed.
