'Wendelin'

Wendelin is a classic gnome created and modelled in 1926 by Wendelin Griebel, the renowned German gnome maker.  Up to 1939 only a few copies were made and it was not produced for sale after the Second World War.   This model is made from the original master mould by Wendelin’s son Reinard Griebel who is now the owner of the Phillip Griebel gnome factory.   In order to maintain quality, only six at a time are cast from the mould.  They are fired in the kiln at 1000 degrees and then carefully hand painted.   Each gnome comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Reinard Griebel.
